Does It Matter If The Surge Worked?
If someone was truly against the Iraq War and then against the surge, showing that the surge has been partially successful does not necessarily color that person in a negative light. If someone believes a war is unjust, then they would also be against further strategic action taken in that war, even when it would be good strategy.

RE: Does It Matter If The Surge Worked?
I think that if one looks at what's truly going on in Iraq, then the surge wasn't really the key to whatever success we feel we've made. That started before the surge was even announced and would have possibly continued without the new strategy. So I don't think that it should put Obama in a bad light that he analyzed the complete situation and came to a conclusion, rather than ranting on about what is unclear as fact like McCain does.
