Environmental pollution is a serious issue to be dealt with. I think the only way to get out of it is that developed countries first take step to reduce pollution in their own countries and then help developing countries to achieve reduction in pollution. The developed countries like U.S should act first and then help others to act.

Absolutely! I get so irritated when Bush says no because India and China pollute more Fiery We need to develop the technology, refine it, and then help India and China start addressing their pollution.

As a UK resident, I have to say that this is without doubt the only way forward. My own countries industrial development occurred in a time when countries were largely oblivious to environmental issues.

Denying other countries the ability to develop in the name of environmentalism is to my mind dealing in double standards. We MUST get our own houses in order, reduce our own emissions and 'clean up our act' whilst still allowing other nations to develop BUT we must try and help them develop in as much of an environmentally friendly manor as possible.

We should lead by example.
