Afghanistan/Pakistan Border
The CIA Director said this, "The situation in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan where al-Qaida has established a safe haven presents a "clear and present danger"."
Ummm... anybody that has ever played the game of RISK knows that when you take over a territory you have to leave a decent amount of troops there if you don't want it to be taken over again. It's like we left 1 troop in Afghanistan while we pursued Iraq and now have to double back. What's even more dumb is... if they know this is where they have a "safe haven" shouldn't it be easy to go to the border and make it an "unsafe haven". I mean seriously, how can a good hiding spot be somewhere that we know they're hiding? I think our government and military officials need to play RISK and hide and go seek as training. RE: Afghanistan/Pakistan Border
Well Pakistan will not allow our troopspast the border so we cannot properly do our job. We have been using drones but that is not enough to get the job done.

Pakistan is a country in it's own right - I doubt the USA would allow foreign troops past it's borders. I think the best way to sort the problem out is to just to clear the area out bit by bit as quickly as possible. Use aircraft when necessary Help protect the environment | Play free games online |

RE: Afghanistan/Pakistan Border
You are quite right Tsmaster.
Pakistan is free country and have it's own rights. But the country can co-operate. Well it's not about Pakistan anyways... The major concern is to tackle the Al quida, intelligence say they are hiding in that area, and it's possible too dangerous for them to hide there since the whole world know that and it's too dangerous to put US troops there too... RE: Afghanistan/Pakistan Border
The president of Afghanistan said yesterday that if things did not change then he would soon be sending his own troops into the Pakistani border because he is tired of the Pakistani officials standing back and letting militants cross the border.

That sounds absolutely ridculous. A country as weak and unstable as Afghanistan attacking a friendly neighbour that let many refugees from Afghanistan in back when the Soviet union attacked. I do think Pakistan needs to do more, but its got enough problems of its own what with a suicide bomb going off somewhere on a regular basis. Help protect the environment | Play free games online |

Friendly neighbor is a bit of a stretch. Musharraf supported the Taliban-Karzi was fighting against the Taliban. Musharraf is a dictator-let's not make him out to be Mr. Rogers. |

Unfortunately, there are multiple reports coming out about Pakistan aiding the Taliban: http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5ir5O...QBgECCHgnw I think all the aid money we've given has just bit us in the ass again. And I think this is why Karzi is so upset. |

RE: Afghanistan/Pakistan Border
The mismanagement of the war in Afghanistan has shown Musharaff that believing that he will be safer with the Afghans than with the taliban is not good for his well being. If there was a strong presence and a solid defense, he'd probably see more advantage to siding with his neighbor. By attacking Pakistan, Karzai will only reinforce that decision and given the lack of security, will cause more problems than prevent.
