Mike Huckabee's Fair Tax

I see that Mike Huckabee's fair tax was the smartest thing that this country could do right now. It is statistically shown that if ever illegal immigrant in this country paid their taxes, our nation would not be in debt.

Mike Huckabee's fair tax put a 32% consumption tax on all goods. This means that you would be taxed on every good you buy 32%.

Although 32% tax sounds pretty steep, when was the last time you got a full pay check, probably never (unless you are getting paid under the table).

What this would do is make sure that illegals would pay their taxes and not get away with it.

What are your guys thoughts? I think this a brilliant idea because it solves a lot of tax problems.

I think that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Mexicans will get around that tax too. They will go shop at flea markets and completely bypass spending any taxes. It won't work.

I am 100% for the fair tax. I do not think it is a dumb idea whatsoever. I mean just the name of it. What is dumb about being fair?

That is why we have police enforcement. I think it will be easier to keep Mexicans out of places like that, rather than tracking every one down and making them go back to Mexico or pay taxes. Thats impossible, the fair tax isn't.
