Edwards endorses Obama
Edwards has made his choice: Obama for President. Interestingly, Edwards is still getting votes although his campaign ended some time ago. These are "the voters that exit polls show are shunning Obama in West Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Ohio. If Edwards can bring them into Obama's column, it will help him not just close out the primary against Hillary Clinton, but also win in November against Republican John McCain."

RE: Edwards endorses Obama
I posted about this in Obama's section, too: http://www.vqte.com/edwards-endorses-obama-t-7253.html

However, if you want to make this topic more about Edwards than Obama, then that's fine. Bigwink

Hehe, funny. It took me a couple of days to notice your post in the Obama section -- I've been having really deep, dark troubles with my internet connection and it's been about as slow as a worm on a treadmill lately, so sadly I've been able only to jump around less than thoroughly -- but I thank you for the opportunity to make this more about Edwards than Obama. Bigwink

JohnEdwards.com Wrote:John Edwards' remarks in New Orleans, 1/30:

I began my presidential campaign here to remind the country that we, as citizens and as a government, have a moral responsibility to each other, and what we do together matters. We must do better, if we want to live up to the great promise of this country that we all love so much.

It is appropriate that I come here today. It's time for me to step aside so that history can blaze its path. We do not know who will take the final steps to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but what we do know is that our Democratic Party will make history. We will be strong, we will be unified, and with our convictions and a little backbone we will take back the White House in November and we'll create hope and opportunity for this country.

I think it's notable that Edwards has decided to back Obama, and it makes me respect him all the more. He could have remained silently mysterious on the matter, but his announcement seems to be a clear case of putting his money where his mouth is, so to speak.

I've always liked John Edwards, and I hope we haven't seen the last of him. Will he have a place in the Obama administration?
