How the Clintons Do House Cleaning at the National Archives
In 2003, Bill Clinton's former National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, stole documents from the National Archives to prevent the 9/11 commission from looking at them.

As in slipped them inside his clothes and walked out of the Archives. Haven't heard of a move like that since Fawn Hall, Ollie North, and Iran-Contra. Understandably, Fawn Hall slipping documents under her clothes captured more of the publics imagination than Sandy Berger.

But here's the kicker:

Berger is now back on the HRC presidential campaign.

He will get his security clearance back (he lost it after he was convicted for stealing documents) in September 2008. Just in time to go back to work for another Clinton White House? A National Security Adviser who steals "Classified" documents from the National Archives. Oh, and like Bill he also lost his law license over this pesky misdemeanor.

The $98 question: Why do the Clintons bring him back?

My guess: They have to or face his disclosure of who sent him on that errand to the Archives in the first place.

Most Spooky: Read the end of the examiner article where they say that even though Berger was caught he may have destroyed original Clinton White House documents on terrorism that were never cataloged or photocopied and so we will never see them.

Most Overlooked Factoid: Those documents in the National Archives belong to US. Our government tells us they are classified for our own safety and only a select few of US have clearance to see them, but maybe our grandchildren 30 years from now will get to look at the declassified (translation: passages and names blacked out for National Secruity) version. That status quo is what we tacitly go along with in a free country where we can CHOOSE to vote for something more real and change this method.

And then we find that one of the very officials (The National Security Adviser) who should uphold the accuracy and completeness of these public records steals them to indelibly alter the truth concerning one of the most impactful events in recent US History: 9/11.

It is just too much to digest. I voted for the Clintons in 1992 and I just don't want to believe how many ethical problems those people continue to have even after the end of the administration.
