Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show

Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show
President Bush appeared briefly on "Deal or No Deal" last night, to thank a military veteran contestant for his service.

Watch the full clip on YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=hAfgTC37yZA
It's really an outstanding PR bit in which Howie introduces the noble hero, then the president pops on the screen, makes a few self-effacing jokes, and thanks him sincerely for his war effort. The crowd -- and the models -- went wild.

The veteran and his friends were utterly thrilled, and spoke highly of the president, saying it was "awesome" of him to come on the show.

And in other news, First Lady Laura Bush hosts the Today Show: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/24126487/

RE: Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show
How appropriate that GWB appears on a game show that needs no knowledge, no experience, no skill, no intelligence (beyond counting to 26 boxes) is completely random, and wears out its welcome long before its finished! Hyper

I think he came across fairly well all things considered. I found his joke about the ratings rather amusing.

Thanks for sharing. Thumbsup

Yet he is most likely more intelligent then you. Bush is way smarter then he is given credit for.
People saying he is stupid has really gotten old since anybody with any common sense knows otherwise.

It was a cool thing for him to go on the show for that guy. It probably meant a lot to them.

I doubt he has a documented IQ measurement of 145. Just saying.

Yea that is why he went to a good school and got decent grades throughout his education career. I guess that is just a fluke. And his SAT scores and etc have been released and they are fairly good as well.

Plus IQ is not a reliable measure of intelligence. One learns that in any basic Psychology class so your documented 145 IQ means nothing.

You can't really say that to anyone without knowing who they really are

Not so sure about this one. He's certainly made decisions that haven't gone down too well with people

RE: Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show
President Bush is actually extremely intelligent. While I worked on Capitol Hill my boss traveled quite a bit with the President and spent a lot of time with him.

Many other people who I know that have worked closely with the President have said the same thing - both Democrats AND Republicans.

Ask any Democratic elected official who has worked with the President. They'll tell you that he's scary smart.

Also, if he were such a dumbass what does that say about Al Gore and John Kerry? John Kerry had worse grades than Bush did.

RE: Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show
I had a cat once that was very smart when it came to being able to get into things. She could get into anywhere, and could learn how to use the door handles to open cabinets, etc to get what she wanted. However, she had no smarts when it came to survival skills. She'd do the dumbest things that often got her into trouble or to the vet's office.

Intelligence and decision making/people skills are not always the same. He may have done well on tests. Some people do, but that doesn't mean that they do well in reality. I went to college with a guy who took electronics, but when it came to building the actual electronic devices, he was completely messed up. He did well though on tests, acing all the theory, just had trouble applying it.

There are all sorts of "smarts" and whether or not Bush is good at some of them, he has obvious flaws in others that have led this country into trouble.

As far as Deal or No Deal, I think it's nice that he got on there to honor a soldier. And I'm sure despite anyone's feelings on his politics, it is very cool to meet any president, even if it is over a satellite link.

RE: Meanwhile, our leader appears on a game show
The simple truth is that George W. Bush has not shown himself to be terribly intelligent, but his opponents argument that he is moronic is ridiculous. A complete idiot would not have been able to rise to the position of President. In my opinion he is average... painfully average.
