Romney drops out!
I'm really shocked. I thought he'd be in it for the long run, but I guess his lack of connection with voters and poor showing on Super Tuesday was enough to convince him that it was time to concede defeat.

A bit sad, really. I liked the guy. The good side, however, is that it may give Huckabee the support he needs to overcome McCain (which would be a welcomed thing to many (myself included)).

RE: Romney drops out!
Im totall glad he dropped out. Honestly I lost all respect for him when I read about how he didnt believe in pardoning people (when he was last Governor of Massachusetts.) Im routing for McCain all the way now.

RE: Romney drops out!
This was a bit of a surprise to me, but I guess it shouldn't have been. He was third going out of Super Tuesday. So there wasn't much hope for him. It will be interesting what role he will play, if any, in the coming months and perhaps in McCain's cabinet.

RE: Romney drops out!
How about that Romney drop out speech! He was stepping aside essentially to save the nation from the terrorist supporting dems taking the White House!
It had nothing to do with the fact that he was losing miserably.

He could be the poster child showing why politicians are ranked with used car salesmen for integrity.

RE: Romney drops out!
Yeah, it was a bit "let me play the hero." I could almost hear violins in the background. The truth of the matter is that when you burn through 35 million dollars and you have little to show for it, there is quite a motivation to get out while you still can. And if you can play the hero, you might get a spot as VP or some cabinet position.
